Famous Ratakerho for kids about 3-5 yrs old.
The child takes part in the popular ski course together with a familiar adult.
The €299 course fee includes 10 training sessions, held on Thursdays from 6:00–7:00 PM. The course is planned to start before Christmas, weather permitting.
Equipment is available free of charge from the rental shop for the duration of each lesson for both the child and one accompanying adult.
The language of instruction is Finnish, and the course is taught by Vihti Ski Center’s multiple award-winning ski school.
RATAKERHO - Course for the small kids 3-5yr. IN FINNISH!
Ratakerho is an excellent first step towards race ski training and independent skiing. The aim of the club is to introduce children to the sport through a weekly training session.
The course has 3–4 instructors, and training initially takes place mainly on the Magic Carpet slopes. As the children progress, the group moves on to the longer magic carpet lift and the button lift slope, depending on their skill level.
Due to the age of the children, one familiar adult must participate in each session. There is no ski pass charge for the accompanying adult during the course session. The adult can participate either on skis or in shoes. However, we recommend that the adult participates on skis, as the training will move fairly quickly to the longer magic carpet and button lift slopes.
EQUIPMENT & SEASON PASS INCLUDED – €299
Getting started with the course is easy and affordable. The €299 course fee includes all the equipment needed for skiing:

Skis, boots and helmet for the child

Skis, boots and helmet for one accompanying adult during the lesson

Vihti Ski Center season pass for the 2026–2027 season for the child
With the course vest, the child can rent equipment free of charge on every visit throughout the season.
The season pass included in the course fee is loaded during the season onto an Axess reloadable ski pass card or a Skidata KeyCard (card number starting with 01...) at the ticket office.
Each child will also receive a course booklet containing useful information about skiing. A sticker is added to the booklet after every training session. The stickers are handed out at the rental shop at the end of each lesson.

The group is limited to 40 children, so book your place early!

Please note: In exceptional cases, a 2-year-old child who has already had some experience with skiing is also welcome to join the group.
INSURANCE
We recommend that all participants take out voluntary personal accident insurance.
Excerpt from the Ski School Contract Terms:
“The ski school is not obliged to provide the consumer with insurance covering injuries or other damage caused by the skier to themselves.”
